Guidelines for 2008
1. Short plays (10-minute or one-act) only. No musicals or children's theater.
2. Deadline: July 15, 2008.
3. No entry fee. Limit: three submissions per entrant. (Choose your best scripts.)
4. Cash prizes:
l 1st Place: $100
l 2nd Place: $50
l 3rd Place: $255. There's More! Even if you don't win a cash prize, an additional group of playwrights will be selected for the same process of a reading followed by a discussion.
6. Please Note:
Do not submit your script unless you are willing to attend the public reading in San Diego. If your play wins, you MUST attend the reading in order to accept your prize. (Sorry, no exceptions.)7. Entries are judged anonymously. Follow these directions:
Hard copy submissions:
l Play title only on cover page.
l Clip a 3x5 card/sheet of paper with contact information.
l Mail to: Scripteasers, 3404 Hawk Street, SD, CA 92103-3862
l No scripts will be returned.E-mail submission:
l Submit a single PDF / MS Word document with all contact information. (We will delete identifying info from judge's copies.)

8. Treat your work with respect, and confirm receipt of your entry. (For hard copy, please enclose SASP/SASE.)
9. Notify you of the results of the competition.
10. Work with selected playwrights to arrange a reading date.
Small Print Department:
l Competition is open only to playwrights in Southern California.
l Plays that have been previously produced or published are ineligible.
l Playwrights may win only one cash prize. The Scripteasers reserves the right not to award a prize if in its opinion, no submission is worthy.
l Decision of the judging panel is final. We regret that no private feedback on individual plays can be provided.
l Script must follow standard dramatic formatting. For samples, check the Internet ("playwriting format"). Here is one site you may find particularly helpful: www.playwriting101.com.Questions? E-mail us. We look forward to receiving your submission!
