B) THE LAST SONG, by Jeanne Becijos

The Scripteasers was founded in 1948 to help writers develop
their craft. It is estimated that in the past 62 years the group
has read and analyzed more than 1,600 scripts, some of which
turned out to be prizewinners in competitions across the country.
Many have been anthologized in various play collections and performed
by schools and community groups nationwide. Some of the writers
have gone on to work in film and television.
In the early days, there were a great many radio scripts, then
television plays and some film scenarios. However, most of the
works read and critiqued by The Scripteasers are stage plays,
which depend upon dialogue between well-developed characters.
Writers, actors and audience members are welcome at the readings,
which take place on alternate Friday evenings at 7:30 p.m. Following
each reading is a facilitated discussion and light refreshments.
