Script Submission
(Part 1 of 2)

Thank you for your interest in submitting your script. Scripteasers has been presenting readings of San Diego playwrights since 1948. Over the years, we have developed these guidelines to explain our submission process. Read them over to learn how to submit your script.

Submitting Your Script…
We welcome plays (full-lengths, one-acts) and screenplays (film, television) from San Diego-area writers. We restrict submissions to San Diego writers because we require the playwright to participate in the reading, and to attend one other reading before his/her own reading.

Your script must be original, free of copyright restrictions and un-produced. Plays that have had previous readings are considered, but no script that has been produced or published can be accepted.

Your first step is to submit your script via e-mail (MS Word of PDF document) or as a hard copy. Your script must be (A) written in standard dramatic format*, (B) be securely bound (hard copies) and (C) contain the following information:
1. Category: stage play, screenplay, television script, etc.
2. Type: drama, comedy, comedy-drama, mystery, experimental, etc.
3. Cast: number of roles broken down by women and men

Please allow four to six weeks for review. Scripteasers is not obligated to schedule any script. If your script is selected, we will contact you to discuss the date.

* For samples of standard dramatic formatting, check the internet (type "playwriting format" into a search engine). Here is a link to one site that you may find helpful: www.playwriting101.com.
