About the Authors...

Susan Gembrowski Baker is a member of Around the Block Playwrights, a writing group facilitated by Deborah Salzer, Playwrights Project founder. The group showcases its work in staged readings at venues in San Diego, including in 2019 at Moxie Theatre and in 2017 at the former Ion Theater. In a previous life, Gembrowski Baker wrote and edited thousands of articles during her 25-year journalism career. She worked as an assistant metro editor, features editor, and reporter at The San Diego Union Tribune. She freelanced for the Los Angeles Times, USA Today, Wall Street Journal, and KPBS.

John Garcia is a retired social worker living in San Diego.
