The Scripteasers recognizes this transformational moment in our nation's history and supports peaceful demonstrators everywhere to confront systemic racism in our society. As writers and actors, we acknowledge our responsibility to convey the human experience in all of its forms -- when it is uplifting and in times of despair. In doing so, we commit ourselves to challenging the status quo and to building a just society where all people matter.
We encourage you to let your voice be heard by submitting plays inspired by the current state of the country, a unique confluence of pandemic, racially-charged tragedy, and political turmoil.
Whatever your interest in theater, there is a place for you at our readings.
We hold Zoom public readings of new and in-progress scripts on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of the month. Everyone is welcome to attend and participate.
We welcome unsolicited submissions from San Diego-area playwrights. We accept stage and screen plays year round.
For our November 27, 2020 meeting, we are seeking submissions of no more than 20 pages written for the prompt: "Leftovers."
Our readings are currently conducted over Zoom and begin promptly at 7:30 pm.
